What a batch furnace does

A batch carbonization furnace heats sealed material in low-oxygen conditions, driving off moisture and volatiles to leave charcoal. Buyers choose it for coconut shell, wood logs, bamboo and finished briquettes where flexibility and simple operation matter more than continuous throughput.

Key parameters to define

Typical configuration ranges

ItemCommon optionsIndicative range
Inner tank volumeSingle tank, multi-tank sets1–8 m³ per tank
Charcoal yieldBy material dryness and density25–35% of dry feed
Cycle timeCarbonize + cool8–24 hours
Gas handlingDirect burn-off, recycled to burnerBy local emission rules

Ranges are indicative. Yield varies strongly with feedstock moisture and species.

What a quotation should clarify

Quotation areaQuestions to record
Material basisWhich feedstock and moisture is the yield figure based on?
Tank countHow many tanks rotate to keep production continuous across cycles?
Steel & insulationPlate thickness, refractory lining and expected service life?
EmissionsHow are smoke and combustible gas handled at your local standard?
Delivery scopeHoist, rails, burners, spares and installation drawings included?
