What a rod press does
The screw briquette machine (rod machine, 制棒机) extrudes dried biomass through a heated die, forming dense rods of 50–80 mm diameter. The rods can be sold directly as industrial fuel or carbonized into machine-made charcoal (机制木炭) for BBQ and industrial markets.
Key parameters to define
- Feedstock: sawdust, rice husk, straw, bamboo dust or mixed.
- Moisture at the press inlet: 8–12% is the working window.
- Target rods per day and working hours — presses run in parallel.
- Rod diameter and whether carbonization follows.
- Spare screws and propellers: the main wear part to budget.
