Rod mill vs ball mill
Ball mills pulverize everything finer — good for liberation, bad when over-grinding costs you recovery or makes unsaleable fines. Rod mills trim the top of the size distribution without inflating the bottom. For manufactured sand from soft rock and for gravity-circuit feed, the rod mill is often the better tool.
