1. Record the operating duty and non-negotiable constraints.
2. Separate confirmed requirements from assumptions.
3. Ask suppliers for comparable scope, exclusions and lead-time basis.
4. Agree tests, inspection points and acceptance criteria before production.

A special configuration should not be treated as a promise that every request can be built. The first deliverable is a clear feasibility and information gap review.
