| 2. Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCoC) | Issued per consignment against the PCoC before loading. No SCoC, no customs clearance — this is the step that strands unprepared cargo. |
| 3. Shipping | Jeddah Islamic Port for western projects, King Abdulaziz Port (Dammam) for the east. Inland legs for heavy machinery need route surveys for the big pieces. |
| 4. Customs | Duty typically 5% on machinery (verify your HS codes); VAT 15% applies on CIF + duty. |
Documents we prepare
- Commercial invoice and packing list, consistent to the letter — SABER checks them against the certificates.
- Certificate of origin (China–Saudi trade documentation).
- Test reports and Declaration of Conformity supporting the PCoC.
- Arabic/English nameplate and manual requirements where applicable.
Payment and protection
- Staged payment: deposit against contract, balance against pre-shipment inspection and test-run evidence.
- Letters of credit are workable for larger plants — we build the document set to L/C terms when required.
- Insure the cargo; machinery claims at transshipment ports are real.
Practical notes
- Specify 380V/60Hz — Saudi runs 60 Hz, unlike most of Asia; motors must be ordered correctly at production, not adapted on site.
- Climate specification (50°C, dust) belongs in the purchase contract, because it changes motor frames and lubrication.
