Start with the site and material
Record the material, maximum feed size, hardness, moisture, abrasiveness, target products and required capacity. Then describe the quarry or project layout, haul distance, available power, water, access roads and expected operating period. These inputs determine whether mobility creates a real advantage or adds unnecessary complexity.
When a mobile route can make sense
- The working face or stockpile moves during the project.
- Equipment must be relocated between short-term work areas.
- Site preparation and fixed civil works need to remain limited.
- Feed can reach the mobile unit safely and continuously.
Mobility does not remove the need for feeders, conveyors, dust control, power planning or maintenance access. Ask for the complete route, not only the crusher chassis.
When a stationary route can make sense
- The site has a stable feed point and a longer operating horizon.
- A fixed foundation, transfer tower or larger stockpile layout improves flow.
- Multiple crushing and screening stages need clear separation and service access.
- Utilities, dust controls and product conveyors can be planned as permanent infrastructure.
A stationary plant may provide a cleaner long-term layout, but the quotation must include civil interfaces, structures, conveyors, controls and commissioning responsibilities.
Compare the total scope
- Ask each supplier to state the process flow and design assumptions.
- Compare included equipment, auxiliaries, spare parts and exclusions.
- Check transport dimensions, loading method and destination constraints.
- Agree inspection evidence, acceptance criteria and after-sales boundaries.
There is no universal capacity or machine combination. A supplier-ready RFQ should let you compare like with like and identify what still needs testing or site confirmation.
